
PRE-CONFERENCE PROGRAMME
The AVNC 2026 Pre-Conference Programme offers a series of focused, hands-on workshops designed to enhance practical skills, clinical confidence, and professional competence. These sessions take place prior to the main conference and provide an immersive learning experience in small and medium group settings.

The programmes will be held on the day before the conference at 29th March 2026 and are structured into morning and afternoon sessions, allowing participants to select workshops that best suit their learning needs and schedule. Participants are encouraged to review the session details below for workshop topics and schedules.

WORKSHOPS

9:00am - 6:00pm
RECOVER RESCUER BASIC & ADVANCE LIFE SUPPORT
The course teaches evidence-based RECOVER Basic and Advanced Life Support principles for effective veterinary CPR, following guidelines designed to maximize survival after cardiopulmonary arrest. Be a RECOVER BLS and ALS Certified Rescuer and gain confident to respond decisively in real-life emergencies.

PRACTICAL ASEPTIC SURGICAL PREPARATION FOR DOGS AND CATS
This hands-on surgical asepsis workshop strengthens veterinary nurses' skills in maintaining sterility before, during, and after surgery through focused theory and guided practice. Participants will refine patient and personal preparation, surgical preparation and threatre support techniques to confidently apply aseptic principles in everyday surgical practice.

This hands-on bandaging workshop helps veterinary nurses refine technique while understanding the purpose behind each bandange layer to improve patient comfort and outcomes. Through live demonstrations and guided practice, participants will apply common veterinary bandages and develop confidence in bandage selection, application, and aftercare.
